36-year-old Allison Huffman admitted that, in 2016, she was driving when she struck and killed Roger Perez, who was working on the Howard Frankland Bridge at the time. She entered a guilty plea that she left the scene of the accident after the crash. Now she faces four years in prison with up to 30 years for her crime.
At the time of the accident, Perez was a tow truck driver and had stopped to help two motorists who were stranded on the side of the road. After the accident took place, Huffman ditched her car in a hotel parking lot and then took a cab to the Hard Rock Casino. Police located her two days after she committed the crime.
