Seminole, FL (August 22, 2018) - An 80 year old woman is dead following a crash in Seminole Monday. Initial reports indicate that the woman, identified as Gloria Kaminski, was traveling on 125th Street North near Park Boulevard when the crash occurred. Kaminski attempted to turn left onto Park Boulevard when her 2005 Chevrolet was struck by 2016 Ford van traveling westbound on Park. The driver of the van is identified as 46 year old Robert Hak. Kaminski was rushed to Bayfront Health with critical injuries. Sadly, she later succumbed to her injuries.
Troopers cited Hak for failure to stop at a red light and believe that he is responsible for the crash occurring. Hak sustained minor injuries in the crash and was also transported to Bayfront to receive treatment.
There is no further information available at this time.
Our condolences go out to the family of Gloria Kaminski. We know how difficult it is to lose a loved one to a motor vehicle crash. According to statistics, a fatal crash occurs approximately every three hours in Florida.
In this crash, it appears as though Robert Hak was at fault. If true, Hak's negligence leaves Kaminski's family with the legal option of pursuing a claim for wrongful death. A wrongful death claim is simply a legal right granted to the survivors of a person who has died due to the negligence of someone else. Such claims must be filed within two years of the date of death.
