Suwannee County, FL (July 21, 2018) – Suwannee County traffic was backed up yesterday in the morning when a dump truck accident took place. Police say that the truck was hauling dirt and overturned in the roadway.
The accident happened at the intersection of County Road 349 around 6:30 a.m., prompting Suwannee Fire Rescue to respond. 39-year-old Richard Allen was making a left turn onto CR-349 when a vehicle was traveling eastbound turned in front of him. Allen attempted to avoid the vehicle by steering to the left, which caused the dump truck to roll over.
Allen was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following the accident.
There is a reportable auto accident every 92 seconds in Florida. Many people will receive injuries every year. In fact, over 250,000 people received injuries in just 2017 alone. Are you somebody who has been injured in a crash that isn’t your fault? Our condolences are with you during this time.
