Tallahassee, FL (April 7, 2020) - A 58-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash that took place in Tallahassee on Tuesday morning. The crash happened just after 9:00 a.m. on North Monroe Street near I-10.
Officials say that 42-year-old Justin Harrell was traveling southbound on Monroe behind a Chevy Corvette. Harrell then collided with the rear-end of the Corvette, causing it to travel into a ditch. Harrell failed to stop at the scene. When police and rescue workers arrived, they located the 58-year-old Corvette driver suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Harrell was later located and charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury. The Leon County Sheriff's Office and the Tallahassee Police Department investigated the crash. No further information is available.
A hit-and-run crash can be a very stressful and scary experience for victims. Many hit-and-run accidents cause serious and sometimes permanent injuries. These accidents are, unfortunately, quite common and account for about 25% of all reported crashes in our state.
We hope that the victim in this Tallahassee hit-and-run accident makes a complete recovery.
