This week, a chaotic Tallahassee police chase occurred that led to one man receiving many charges for his actions. 48-year-old Jerry Mordica took police on a chase that ended in chaos and injuries.
The incident started when Tallahassee police noticed a man, Mordica, driving with stolen license plates. The police attempted to pull him over near FSU’s Campus. The driver fled onto Crawfordville Highway and ran into a squad car that was not occupied at the time. After this, he crashed into another vehicle that was occupied at the time and caused injuries to an 11-year-old girl.
He then nearly hit more officers after driving on a bike trail, where the chase came to an end just a bit after.
Many people who were leaving work at the time saw the chase end near Springhill Rd. and said the scene was like anything they have ever witnessed before.
Police also said that, for half of the chase, a woman and four children were inside the vehicle and begging to be let out. He let them out of the vehicle before he led police to an intersection. The streets were flooded with police officers chasing after him.
Many people were glad that no severe injuries resulted from this Tallahassee Police chase. Now Mordica is being charged with assault on an officer, hit-and-run, and more.
