Tampa, FL (October 8, 2018) - A 10-month-old died and two other children were hurt following a crash that occurred on I-75 near Tampa. The crash took place on Sunday, October 7th.
The Florida Highway Patrols says that 50-year-old Lorraine Sailor was traveling in the northbound lanes of I-75 when she came upon debris in the roadway. As Sailor swerved to avoid the debris, her car crashed into the center median, forcing to spin around. Two of the children on board the vehicle were ejected following impact. A 10-month-old died from injuries sustained in the accident while two others suffered injuries.
FHP is investigating the accident. Troopers learned that none of the children were properly restrained at the time of the collision. Charges are pending against Sailor.
A fatal accident is reported approximately every 8 hours in Florida. Our thoughts go out to all of those affected by this terrible tragedy in Tampa.

A 21-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Citrus Hills on Wednesday. The accident took place just after 3:00 p.m. on County Road 486 near the intersection with North Annapolis Avenue. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a van westbound on CR 486 when she came to the intersection. At the same time, a 19-year-old Hernando man was traveling eastbound on an SUV approaching the same intersection. The Hernando man made a left turn and collided with the van, causing it to overturn and spin multiple times. The woman, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital where she later died. Her passengers, an 18-year-old woman, and a 1-year-old boy suffered serious injuries. The man from Hernando sustained minor injuries. Read more
