Tampa, FL (May 5, 2021) - Five people were injured when a van crashed into a restaurant in Tampa on Wednesday afternoon. The accident took place at First Watch on Fowler Avenue.
The Hillsborough Fire Rescue, along with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident scene. According to officials, several customers were standing near the window when the van crashed into the building. The five victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time.
No additional information is available. An investigation is ongoing.

The Gainesville Police Department responded to the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash on NE 15th Street early Monday morning. The crash took place around 12:15 a.m. in the 2400 block of the roadway. According to reports, a woman was riding a scooter on 15th Street when she was hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene shortly after the impact. When rescue workers arrived, they found the female victim suffering from a head injury and struggling to breathe. She was rushed to Shands Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
