53-year-old Walter Sullivan was critically injured in a motorcycle accident. The crash was serious enough to shut down southbound lanes of U.S. 1 in North Indian River County.
The accident took place when Walter Sullivan was traveling on his Harley Davidson in the right lane of the highway. He was in front of Kathleen Hilsner’s Kia Soul. 55-year-old Constance Sullivan was in the trike passenger seat.
Sullivan attempted to make a right turn when Hilsner did not slow down behind him. She rear-ended his trike, which caused it to roll over onto its side.
Sullivan sustained severe injuries and was taken to a medical center in critical condition. Hilsner also received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Constance Sullivan was not injured in the accident.
