A Florida eye doctor was ordered to pay millions in restitution to patients in Fort Lauderdale. He has been ordered by a federal judge for his crimes. His restitution has been upped to $52.9 million from the $10 million that he originally owed.
The reason? The doctor was forcing Medicare elderly patients to undergo excruciatingly painful tests that they didn’t need for diseases that they didn’t actually have. They went through many eye treatments that were totally unnecessary.
