Florida Keys, FL (July 23, 2018) – An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured when he fell off of a boat and was slashed by its propeller. The accident happened at the Florida Keys.
The boy was flown to the Ryder Trauma Center at the Jackson Memorial Hospital after the accident took place off of Boca Chica Key. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident.
The child received six to seven cuts to his back. His name and condition has not yet been released.
The family was visiting the Florida Keys from the Tampa area and the boy was with his family when the accident took place. Right now, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the accident.
