Florida (July 10, 2018) – A fatal Florida rollover accident took place that led to an Atlanta-area teenager being ejected through the vehicle’s roof. The accident was caused by an animal running in front of the vehicle on the roadway.
The teenager who was thrown through the roof was identified as 16-year-old Jamie Bennett. She luckily survived the serious accident. Deputies still have not verified why Bennett was in Florida at the time of the incident.
Another girl died in the accident, identified as 16-year-old Brooke Rice. There were also two others in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The driver told police that there was an animal on the road so she swerved out of the way, which caused the vehicle to go off the roadway and strike a tree.
None of the victims had seatbelts on at the time. Bennett was in the front seat at the time of the accident and she was ejected through the sunroof. She spent a bit of time in the hospital but was quickly released.
