A Tallahassee man, 33-year-old Jacob Robert Levine, was seriously injured on the interstate when he had been drinking and driving. At the time of the incident, he was traveling westbound on the eastbound lane. His vehicle encountered a semi-truck at this time.
The driver of the semi-truck, 67-year-old Janice Smith, tried to avoid the collision by switching lanes but the two vehicles still collided. This sent Levine’s vehicle into a spin that only ended when it collided with the guardrail.
Levine had serious injuries and was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Smith was uninjured, as was her passenger, 68-year-old Clarence Smith.
Upon investigation, the accident was found to be alcohol-related.
