Pinellas Park police were called to the scene of a motorcycle vs. vehicle accident that happened on Wednesday in Pinellas Park. The accident took place at the intersection of 49th Street and 94th Avenue North.
At the time of the incident, 62-year-old Wilton Costa was driving his Ford pickup truck and started to make a left turn. This violated the right of way of a motorcycle driven by 63-year-old Kenneth Rickert. The motorcycle slid through the intersection, hitting a vehicle driven by 39-year-old James Patterson.
Rickert was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He did not have a helmet on at the time. Neither Costa or Patterson were injured. They do not believe that speed was a factor.
