A pedestrian lost his life in Jacksonville around 6:30 this morning. The individual was identified as 41-year-old Marvin Corley. At the time of the accident, Corley was walking down West Beaver Street when a vehicle veered off the roadway and struck him. The accident was a hit-and-run and the responsible driver fled the scene.
At this time, police believe that the driver was in a maroon vehicle. Another driver on the roadway found Corley inside a ditch and tried to call for help, but Corley was pronounced dead.
