A South Miami accident left one person killed and four others seriously injured on Wednesday. The accident took place at the intersection of Sunset Drive and U.S. 1.
The impact was so severe that the driver was pinned behind the wheel. The other driver was put on a stretcher, as well as a passenger and two other pedestrians who just happened to be in the area at the time.
All of the victims were taken to local hospitals. One of the victims had to be airlifted due to serious injuries. When police arrived at the scene, they found a convertible in the southbound lanes and one vehicle that jumped the curb near a median. The crash is still being investigated at this time.
