Orange County, FL (August 15, 2018) – Seven children and the driver of a pickup truck were injured in a school bus accident that happened in Orange County. The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon. The crash was reported around 5:22 p.m. on East 13th Street.
The driver of the truck was driving on a suspended license and didn’t have insurance on his vehicle and so he was ticketed for both of those infractions, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Officials who arrived at the scene said that seven children suffered minor injuries due to the crash. Two of them were taken to the hospital for treatment while the other children’s parents refused care. The male driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries as well.
There was a total of 14 children on the bus at the time, all of whom were coming from Positive Pathways Transition Center. At this time, the FHP is investigating the accident. They said that it is apparent that both vehicles were at the stop sign at the same time and entered the intersection, where they collided. There have been issues determining fault in the accident.
