39-year-old Roland John was struck and critically injured in an accident in Wakulla County, and the driver quickly fled the scene.
A call came into troopers around 3:30 a.m. on Monday when an injured pedestrian was found by a passerby. The pedestrian was quickly identified as Roland John of Lauderhill. He was in critical condition and was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Troopers believe that John was lying on the road at the time when he was struck by the undercarriage of a vehicle. The driver never stopped. John might have been drinking at the time of the incident, which could explain why he was in the roadway. Police are trying to locate the responsible driver.
