Sarasota, FL (August 9, 2021) - One person suffered critical injuries following a motorcycle crash that took place in Sarasota County on Monday. The accident took place at the intersection of Bee Ridge Road and Radnor Place.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup was traveling eastbound on Bee Ridge in the left turn lane. At the same time, a motorcycle was approaching in the right-hand lane. The truck made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, causing the two vehicles to collide. The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in the accident and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the truck was not hurt. Neither of the victims were identified.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing and there is no word on whether there are any charges expected.
Motorcycle accidents in Florida take place on a daily basis. Sadly, thousands of motorcyclists are injured in crashes that take place across our state each year.
