There are more than 100,000 hit-and-run crashes in Florida every year. The number of hit-and-run accidents in our state continues to rise. At this time, approximately 20% of all reported car accidents in Florida are hit-and-run accidents. Although drivers are legally required to remain at an accident scene, many choose not to and instead will flee before police can arrive. This is often the case when the driver is at fault for the accident.
